Association of Private Sector Universities Punjab has called for strict action and accountability against mafia in the Department of Higher Education, Punjab.
A press release issued by Imran Masood, spokesperson AAP SAP, demanded to initiate investigation and take strict legal against Usman Khalid (Additional Secretary) and Ishtiaq Ahmed (Ex- Section Officer) for being allegedly involved in financial corruption, overruling the merit and intentionally delaying the ongoing investigations. It was clearly mentioned in the declaration that if CM Punjab, Governor Punjab, Chief Secretary Punjab and Minister of Higher Education Punjab do not take strict action, it will give rise to a strong protest. Spokesperson AAP SAP also said that fruitful negotiations were held with Raja Yasir, Minister Higher Education, in which he was informed about the wrongdoings of Ishtiaq Ahmed (Ex-Section Officer) and how he was allegedly involved in intentionally delaying the cases regarding private universities. After the negotiations, Minister of Higher Education formed the Education Reform Committees to complete prolonged cases, but unfortunately no actions have been taken so far and no demands have been completed. Governor Punjab issued written orders on 15 July that action must be taken against officers who delay any file for more than 10 days, but upon enquiring about the delayed case of Usman Khalid, they face disrespectful behavior and revengeful actions, said the spokesperson.
