LAHORE: District Administration has notified 23 specific places for holding public rallies, Jalsa and processions in the provincial metropolis ahead of the General Election 2018.
It is pertinent to mention here that Deputy Commissioner Lahore Captain (R) Muhammad Anwar-ul-Haq has designated all places on the recommendations of District Intelligence Committee due to security threats and in pursuance of Para 32 of the Code of Conduct issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan through a notification on July 14.
Spokesperson for District Administration said that no political party or candidate can hold public rally, procession and Jalsa without taking permission from DC Office. He said that all parties and candidates will convey their schedule at least three days in advance, adding that all activities to be under taken at the designated places by political parties and candidates will be strictly in accordance with the prescribed code of conduct.
The administration has notified following places including Government Degree College ground GT Road Shahdara, Bara Dari Begum Kot and Takia Khusrianyan Wala Shahdara for NA123 constituency, PP144, 145 and 146. As well, Mochi Gate Ground opposite Police Station Mochi Gate has been allocated for NA124, PP124, 146, 147 and 148. Baba Ground Islampura, Nasir Bagh and Nehru Park have designated places for NA125, PP149 and 150.
Further, Football Ground Gulshan Ravi has been set for NA126, PP151 and 152. Railway Stadium Garhi Shahu allocated for NA127, PP148, 153 and 154. As well, Railway Griffin Ground Mughalpur allocated for NA128, PP154, 155 and 156. The administration has been set Ground Bara Dari near Mian Meer Darbar for NA129, PP148, 156, 157 and 158 constituencies.
Moreover, candidates who are contesting from the constituency of NA130, PP158, 159,160 and 166, will bound to hold public rallies, Jalsa and processions only at Dongi Ground Wahdat Colony, Dongi Ground Samanabad, Main Ground Faisal Town, Milad Park Q-Block Liaqatabad, Ghalib Market Ground and Kareem Block ground. Similarly, Bab-e-Pakistan Ground (Service Road) and Ground Nishat Colony allocated for NA131, PP158, 159,162,163,166 and 168. Besides, Gulshan Ahbab Scheme near Chandral Pind Kot Lakhpat has been set for NA133, PP156, 167 and 168. Itwar Bazaar 3D-I Green Town allocated for NA134, PP165, 168, 169 and 170.
Apart from that, Cricket Stadium Liaqat Chowk Sabzazar has been allocated for NA135, PP151, 170 and 173 along with candidates of NA136, PP171, 172 and 173 will used Sher Shah Colony Ground for any public rallies, Jalsa and processions.
