On the eve of the World Teachers’ Day, 28 educators were honoured with “Best Teacher Awards” on Thursday by the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training and the United States (US) Mission in Pakistan for their outstanding efforts to achieve educational improvements in their classrooms.
Reportedly, teachers have implemented new methodologies of teaching students how to read, which are critically important for them to develop key language and emergent reading skills, as well as a love of reading.
Besides, they have formulated new techniques to gauge “how well their students were progressing.”
The “Best Teacher Award” recipients were nominated by their provincial education departments based on their participation in professional development workshops, the degree to which they had improved teaching methods in their classrooms, and most importantly, their students’ ability and improved learning capacity.
Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood lauded efforts of thousands of early-grade reading teachers who had play an integral role in improving the overall quality of primary education in the country.
