ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar chaired a high level meeting in Islamabad on Friday he ha
s directed to complete registrati
on of all International Non-Governmental Organisations (INGOs) according to the new rules and regu
lations by next month.
In the meeting he said under the new rules and regu
lation completi
on of registration process will bring transparency and prove vital for Pakistan’s security. The minister added that the new system is further aimed at strengthening partnership between government and non-governmental organisations.
He ensured all possib
le assistance to all the registered INGOs to make their work easier. So far 66 INGOs have formally been registered, whereas rest of the applications is being reviewed. The meeting al
so approved registrati
on of three more INGOs, while ten others were not allowed registration and destiny of 36 other INGOs will be decided next month.
It was decided that three months grace period will be given to those INGOs, which are denied registration so that they can complete their ongoing projects.
