Esa Khan was going to a check post in Safi tehsil for duty when a remote-controlled IED explosion claimed his life.Security forces reached the spot and shifted him to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Earlier in the day, at least four levies personnel and a tehsildar were wounded in a roadside blast targeting a vehicle in Nawagai area of Bajaur tribal district.Tesildar Abdul Haseeb suffered minor injuries in the blast which his vehicle was completely damaged.
Local officials said Haseeb was travelling in his vehicle when the bomb went off in Kamangara locality of Charmang. Four of his guards were injured, with two of them in critical condition.The critically wounded personnel were referred to Peshawar for treatment while those with minor injuries were being treated at a Khar hospital.
After the blast, security forces launched a search operation in the area but no arrest was made till filing of this report.
