FAISALABAD: Police on Sunday arrested a man for trying to throw a shoe at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.
The attacker, identified as Mirza Rizwan, intended to hit Khan with a shoe as the PTI chief made his way to his vehicle after the conclusion of the party chief’s Faisalabad address.
It was further revealed that the attacker tried to open the door of Khan’s vehicle but was apprehended by security officials.
During the initial interrogation, Rizwan claimed that he was tasked to hit Imran with a shoe by Law Minister Rana Sanaullah’s son-in-law Shehryar.
Earlier, A former seminary student threw a shoe at former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif during an event at Jamia Naeemia in Garhi Shahu area of Lahore.

According to details, Nawaz Sharif was invited to speak at an event at the seminary but as he reached the rostrum to address the audience, a person in the audience threw a shoe at him, hitting his chest, and started shouting slogans in favour of Tehreek-e-Labbayk Ya Rasool Allah.
