Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan played a frontline role in the global war on terror. He praised the bravery, courage, and sacrifices Pakistan made to defeat terrorism. On the International Day of Solidarity with Terrorism Victims, he expressed deep sympathy for those affected by terrorism.
He stated Pakistan stands united with the world in support of terrorism victims. Citizens of all ages, armed forces, and law enforcement agencies fought hard against terrorism. The Prime Minister said Pakistan’s efforts broke the back of terrorism through strong will and sacrifices.
Sharif acknowledged that terrorism caused great losses, including over 90,000 lives and significant economic damage. He said every city, town, road, market, and school bears the marks of terrorism and its victims. Despite this, Pakistanis remain proud of their courage and resilient spirit.
He highlighted government efforts like Operation Zarb-e-Azb and Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad. These military and intelligence operations weakened terrorists’ plans. Law enforcement and intelligence agencies continue to work hard to eliminate terrorism from the country.
Prime Minister Sharif praised the National Action Plan as a comprehensive strategy against terrorism. He emphasized national unity and focus as keys to peace, security, and progress. He paid tribute to terrorism victims and honored those fighting against terror threats.
