KARACHI: Faisal Edhi, the son of late Abdul Sattar Edhi, who now also manages Edhi Foundation, announced that he along with other members of his family would donate their organs after their death.
He made the announcement during a memorial reference the other day, organised by the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) that took care of Edhi over a decade.
A huge number of people from all walks of life attended the memorial reference in Karachi and paid rich tribute to late Edhi. Faisal Edhi and other family members of his family were also invited to the event.
They later filled in consent forms of the SIUT for organs donation, following in the footsteps of Abdul Sattar Edhi.
Speaking on the occasion, Faisal Edhi said that the charity work initiated by his father would continue to serve humanity across the world.
Abdul Sattar Edhi, the revered person of the country, passed away last week at the SIUT after a prolonged illness.
He had donated his eyes for the blind as the last charity to the society.
